PWWA Results: Evie vs. Skater III, McKay vs. Britenay & More

Tonight, PWWA is holding their first show since last year’s event on September 3rd, which featured a thrilling SHIMMER title match between Madison Eagles, Jessie McKay and Canadian talent Nicole Matthews in the title’s first defense outside of North America.

The show will be headlined by Evie defending her newly won PWWA Interim Championship for the first time ever against “The Rate Tank” Kellie Skater. The two have previously met twice in singles competition, with Evie winning both times.

Results from the show are coming to you thanks to @NHBGirls on Twitter.

* Pre-Show: Shazza McKenzie def. Ashley Sparks. Sparks hails from Victoria.

* KC Cassidy vs. TJ Star kicks off the main show. Cassidy wins with a DDT and, post-match, follows it up with a slap to the face for good measure.

* Savannah Summers vs. Lou Lou Lockhart follows. A fellow South Australian alongside Savannah, Lou Lou is still only a newcomer to wrestling. Savannah picks up the win after a hard-fought match.

* Michelle K Hasluck and Siren Monroe vs. Alex Lee (the former Leah West/Irena Janjic) and Charley Simone in tag team action is up next. Lee and Simone get the duke in what was described as a “hard-hitting match”. Monroe was pinned after a “brutal” kick to the head, which was followed by a choke-bomb.

* Harley Wonderland vs. Rachel Rose is up. Wonderland wins after a Gory Bomb.

* Jessie McKay takes on New Zealand’s Britenay. Both girls are eager to prove themselves as a contender for Evie’s title belt/s. Britenay accuses the referee of not knowing how to count and takes complete control of the match. Every attempt of Jessie’s to take back control gets thwarted by Britenay. Jessie finally manages to lock on her octopus stretch submission hold, which Britenay eventually taps out to, giving “Everybody’s Favourite Girlfriend” the victory!

* After a short intermission, the show returns with the former “Amazon“, UK’s Ayesha Ray, making her Australian debut against Kellyanne English. Like KC Cassidy, English is a recent graduate of the Storm Wrestling Academy, and will be heading to Mexico in January to tryout for AAA. Ray sparks a strong reaction from the crowd. Despite Ray’s dominance, Kellyanne picks up a surprising win after hitting her with a “tornado forearm”!

* Shazza McKenzie vs. Megan-Kate is up next. The crowd chants “Sharon” at McKenzie. Described as an “awesome match”, in which both girls brought their A-game, Shazza defeated Megan-Kate with a little extra help – her foot was on the ropes as she pinned her opponent.

* PWWA Interim Championship Match: Evie (c) vs. Kellie Skater: There’s no messing around in this match – the girls get straight into it. Several near falls from the very beginning. Skater tries to block Evie from using her now famous kicks. Both girls exchange stiff elbows. Skater gets knocked to the outside. Skater yanks Evie to the outside as well. Both girls battle it out around the venue, before exchanging kicks on a couple of chairs in the crowd. Evie repeatedly kicks Skater in the back. Skater pays her back with kicks of her own. Both girls are now down in the middle of the ring.

Evie regains momentum, but Skater locks in the ankle lock and Evie scrambles to the ropes. Both girls are exhausted as the match starts closing in on the thirty minute mark. However, the match time limit expires and it is announced as a time limit draw, so Evie retains her title!

After the match, Skater hits Evie with the title and goes on the attack. Shazza McKenzie and KC Cassidy run out to assist her in her beatdown but Jessie McKay and TJ Star make the save for Evie!

PWWA News: Evie Wins Interim Title Tournament, New Talent Announced for October Show & More

Adding to her collection of gold is none other than Evie!

The New Zealand-born wrestler – whom only one week ago won her home promotion’s (IPWNZ) first-ever Women’s Championship – topped “Everybody’s Favourite Girlfriend” Jessie McKay on August 25 at the Casula Powerhouse, in the tournament finals to crown an interim PWWA Champion.

The finish of the match came when McKay had her octopus stretch submission locked in, but Evie broke free and hit a second TTYL (Go To Sleep) on her opponent for the victory – and the title!

PWA Australia have announced that Evie will indeed make her first defense of the title at their all-women’s show to be held on October 6th, once more at the Casula Powerhouse. Who would you all like to see as her first challenger? Hit us with your thoughts below.

For those North American fans who might be interested in seeing Evie wrestle, SHIMMER Women Athletes founder Dave Prazak has commented on the company’s official forums’ “talent request thread” saying he has heard your pleas.

“Not everyone *I* want to see in SHIMMER is on SHIMMER shows, because A) there isn’t enough room, and B) the shows have to remain within a budget. Again… lots of women’s shows around the world means opportunities to see everybody you want to, but maybe not all on the same show at the same time. We do our best. And as I said in the SHINE 2 chat room, as far as Evie coming to the States is concerned, it’s just a matter of when.”

In other PWWA news, several names have been added to the October 6 card since our last talent announcement post a few weeks ago.

They are none other than: Evie’s “BFF” tag team partner, Megan-Kate; former WWE developmental diva Irena Janjic (now going by the name Alex Lee), whom is currently living and training in Japan and competing on REINA X WORLD shows; Savannah Summers; Harley Wonderland; and recent Storm Wrestling Academy graduates KC Cassidy and Kellyanne English.
